Working with two-factor authentication
Two factor authentication can only be managed by a system administrator.
Setting up
Two-factor authentication is enabled for every company, and cannot be disabled.
The users in your company must set up two factor authentication the first time they log in.
To understand the user experience when two factor authentication is enabled, See First login.
Resetting two-factor authentication
It is possible that someone might lose their phone or accidentally delete their Google Authenticator code. When that occurs, they may ask you to reset their two-factor authentication code.
- Go to Contractor | Users.
- On the row containing the user, press the Edit button.
- Press the Reset two-factor authentication button.
When the user next logs in, they will be required to scan a new QR code.
For security reasons, never respond to requests to reset two factor authentication via email or text message. That’s how social engineering attacks succeed.
