What is this “balance areas” thing on attributes?

This feature was requested in order to make it easier to use attributes. If we assume that all attributes are measured in area (most likely to be the case in rural contract areas), then it makes sense that there is a fixed number of either m² or hectares to be distributed among attributes (land categories).

Simply put, if you tick the Balance areas box, the page will add up the areas (values in the Qty column) in all but the first row, subtract this sum from the property area, and put the result in the first row. This means that if you have no other rows, the whole area will be be put into the first row. Then as you add rows, the value in the first row will be reduced by the amounts you put in the new rows.

info

There is a Contractor option in the Attributes panel called Tick "Balance area" box by default. When this is ticked:

The box in the attributes panel will be ticked whenever you go to the Attributes panel. If you want to enter values other than areas, you'll have to untick it. When the Contractor option is not ticked, you'll have to tick the box in the Property’s Attributes panel or the Supp’s Attributes panel to enable the feature.
