Making bulk edits

The bulk edit screen allows you to rapidly make changes to all items within the selected search result items.

Selecting items for bulk editing

To select items for bulk editing, see Selecting items for bulk editing.

When you have selected the items and opened them for editing, the bulk editing page appears.

The bulk property editor

Each attribute that can be edited in bulk is displayed on the Bulk property editor.

In the Bulk property editor:

  • Any attributes that have no current value show (not set).
  • Any attributes that have a single value across all selected items will display the value.
  • Any attributes that have more than one attribute across the selected items will show (multiple values).
  • Note fields allow you to Append or Replace values.

Single and multiple values in the bulk edit page

Notice in the following screenshot that the Component code displays a value?

This indicates that this value are shared by all the selected items.

To ensure an attribute is not updated

  1. Untick the blue box to the left of the attribute. The attribute will not be updated when the attribute update box is unticked.

Photos are different

Almost all attributes are updated only when you press Save. Photos are different, however, as they are committed as soon as you upload them.

Panels and layouts

Just like update pages, the Bulk property editor is organised using panels and layouts. You can create a range of custom layouts to make it easier to perform specific tasks.

To use panels and layouts, see Working with panels.
